For years, WWE was the uncontested ruler of the US TV in the wrestling forte. But AEW is now in the house and it seems like it is giving WWE a healthy competition for the spot. It’s good news because now WWE needs to step up the game because there is another contender in the house.
WWE’s NXT is in competition with AEW’s TNT. In its debut TNT had 1.4 million viewers as compared with NXT’s debut which had only 1.1 million viewers. This dashed the hopes of WWE who now want to fight for the top position.
WWE just couldn’t drop the matter as beginner’s luck. Dynamite’s debut topped NXT’s debut. And it beat the WWE with a great margin in their first head to head matchup. To say, AEW is threatening the position of the all time favorite WWE is an understatement. Given Dynamite did good in the Wednesday evening time slot.
After the debut the next two episodes of NXT were only one hour long because of the final season of Suits. And the next episode also did not garner the attention of the audience. This failures seem to be a wake up call for WWE which has been constantly surpassed by AEW. NXT is the third show of WWE that AEW sabotaged. And WWE isn’t taking the loss kindly.
It’s news that NXT will be moved to Wednesday evening slot to compete head to head with AEW’s TNT. We aren’t sure about what may happen but fans sure are excited about the prospect of having two competitors going head to head on national television.
